A woman had a hard time finding a number on Google to recharge a channel that costs between Rs 150 and Rs 200 per month. The owner of the mobile number obtained on Google contacted her and accessed the mobile through a remote app and withdrew Rs 10 lakh 50 thousand online from the woman’s bank account. A case was registered in this case at the Cyber Police Station.

Searched for the helpline number on Google. Contacted on it. After that, the suspect asked her to download the AnyDisk Remote app. After Chatterjee downloaded the app, the suspect accessed the mobile. Took the customer ID. Debited 3 IMPCs from HDFC Bank account through net banking and 10 lakh 50 thousand through NEFT to bank account wallet. The account was defrauded.
Interestingly, if you want to recharge this channel every month, only Rs 150 to 200 is being charged for it, the cable operator said.
